AK-Group is pleased to announce the participation of Mr. Hussein Al Akkad, Director of Strategic Planning at AK-Group, in the Advisory Council of the Logistics Technology Program at Saxony Egypt University for Applied Sciences and Technology.
The Advisory Council brings together academic leaders and industry representatives to support the continuous development of the program and strengthen its alignment with the evolving needs of the labor market.
As an Economics graduate who studied abroad and currently leads strategic planning initiatives across a diversified group operating in logistics, maritime services, shipping, trade, and related secto6rs, Hussein contributed a perspective shaped by both international academic exposure and practical industry experience.
During the discussions, Hussein highlighted that the challenge of connecting education with labor market requirements is not unique to Egypt but is increasingly becoming a global challenge. While academic curricula have become more accessible and relatively aligned internationally, the key differentiator today lies in practical exposure, industry integration, and the development of operational capabilities.
He emphasized the importance of applied learning models, particularly within logistics and supply chain management, noting that logistics remains one of the few disciplines where students can be exposed directly to real operational environments, systems, workflows, and decision-making processes.
Among the ideas discussed was the opportunity to further connect graduation projects with real challenges faced by companies and industry operators. Such an approach would allow students to work on practical problems while creating value for both educational institutions and the private sector.
The objective is not only to graduate knowledgeable students, but to graduate individuals capable of operating effectively within real business environments,’ Hussein noted during the session.
The appointment reflects AK-Group’s continued commitment to supporting initiatives that strengthen talent development, industry-academia collaboration, and the future of logistics and supply chain education in Egypt.
